The Worst of Homicide.
This page is for the very rare occasions when an episode of Homicide is just awful! There are several occasions where a part of an episode, or one particular plot line is dumb, boring, tedious, confusing, implausable or otherwise irritating. Most of the time, however each episode had some redeeming quality. I believe there are two times where this has not happened. The two episodes of Homicide that I cannot stand are A Doll's Eyes(Episode 31) and Bop Gun(Episode 10). I know that these are many people's favorite episodes, so I've got some explaining to do.
- A Doll's Eyes Episode 31, Season 4 -- This is the episode where the little boy is shot brain dead and even though he is not really dead they investigate his murder and the parents have to decide to take him off life support. The problem I have with this is that they spend nearly the whole episode with the parents. When I watch Homicide, I want to see detectives, investigating, arresting suspects, interrogating people, trying to close cases. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I am not concerned with victins and their families beyond what is important to the case. If I cared about a little boy in the hospital, I would watch ER. If I cared about his grieving parents, I would watch Touched by an Angel. Homicide offends me when it gets all gooey and sappy like this. They shouldn't stoop so low.
- Bop Gun Episode 10, Season 2 -- This is the Robin Williams episode. I hate it for much the same reason as I hate A Doll's Eyes. I have to check and make sure I'm really watching Homicide and not Touched by an Angel. William's character was just so unnecessary, it made me sick. Why was he hanging around the squadroom s long anyways? And did we really have to see him in the hotel room. If they think they can make us cry with cheap stunts like that they better think again! Homicide is capable of being very emotional withtout being manipulative.
- Abduction Episode 94, Season 6 -- This episode was boring. There was too much Falsone. The Unsolved Mysteries part was pointless. And there was too much Falsone. Did I already say that?
