Beth had to write poems for her American Literature Class. Here is her Homicide Sonnet.

On the mean killing streets of Baltimore
detectives are solving puzzling cases.
And wondering what all this killing is for.
They are kept up at night by these tragic faces
of the victims as they lie where they fell
these strong detectives must speak for the dead
And listen carefully to what they tell
they must fill the suspect with fear and dread
as they put the murderer in the box.
Theyıve mastered the art of working together
partners forever they've learned to outfox-
any criminal they put away for ever
in jail. These talented men have a knack
of changing the names on the board to black.
